Rights Respecting School

The Rights Respecting Schools Award puts children’s rights at the heart of schools in the UK.

Unicef works with schools in the UK to create safe and inspiring places to learn, where children are respected, their talents are nurtured and they are able to thrive. The Rights Respecting Schools Award inserts these values in daily school life and gives children the best chance to lead happy, healthy lives and to be responsible, active citizens.

Tullos Primary is currently working towards becoming a fully recognised United Nations Rights Respecting School.  We successfully gathered and submitted our evidence for assessment during the first stage of our Rights Respecting journey.  The hard work of our staff and pupils resulted in the school achieving the “Recognition of Commitment” award on 23 June 2016. The award recognises schools that can demonstrate they have a plan in place to become rights respecting and that children and adults are working together to implement this.
