Term 4 Newsletter April 2022

Welcome back and I hope you all had a lovely Easter holiday.

As you know some of the restrictions are easing and our children are enjoying coming in at 9am and having breaks all together. We are still following some restrictions such as wearing masks in communal areas, enhanced cleaning and ask that parents continue to wait at the gates for their children at the end of the day. However we really enjoyed having the parents of Room 20 in school this week to share their children’s learning. As you will see below we are planning more events to welcome parents back into Tullos.

As you can see, it is a busy term. More information will be issued about the events above nearer the time. You will also be receiving your child’s final report for the session at the end of June and we will hopefully hold our usual meet the new teacher event at that time.

For the Queen’s Jubilee we are planning a special event to allow us to celebrate and make the day memorable for our pupils. More information will be issued nearer the time but need less to say a bit of royal dressing up will be required.

Sports Day has also changed. It will be a Field Day instead of our usual races/potted sports and the children will be showcasing some of the skills they have been developing over the year. The event will be carried out over 2 mornings and we have our usual alternative date just in case the weather is not kind to us. Parents will be invited to attend and cheer on their children. You will get more information about this nearer the time.

Water bottles

As an environmentally friendly school we are trying to reduce waste and ask that you give your child a named water bottle which they can take between home and school. This will mean that we do not need to use plastic cups which are one use and then need thrown out.

Mobile phones

Pupils are not allowed mobile phones in school however we acknowledge that on the odd occasion you may want your child to bring their phone so that they are able to contact you after school. If this is the case, please inform the school by calling the office so that we are able aware and can lock up the phone in a safe place.

School Uniform

As a school we expect pupils to wear school uniform but of course if the class are taking part in Fitness Friday or gym activities they are allowed to wear sports clothes however we do not allow football tops. We also urge you to encourage your child to take a jacket to school.  We all know how changeable the Scottish weather can be and children will be out in the playground as much as possible.
